RE: The WWC stands for Welwitschia Welfare Centre
Question:What does WWC do?
RE: The WWC provides advice, information, advocacy, assistance on immigration, welfare benefits, housing, debt/money, consumer affairs, interpreting and translation services. It also carries out outreachwork.
Question: When was WWC founded?
RE: WLAC was founded in December 1998.
Question: Where is WWC based?
RE: The WWC office is based in Tottenham, Haringey North London, at imperial House, 64 Willoughby Lane London N17 OSP
Question: Do you serve only African Portuguese Speakers?
Re: No although the main target are African portuguese Speakers, we also serve other nationalities who needs our service. this is as a part of our Equal opportunity Policy
Question: Do you charge for your services?
RE: No we do not charge for our services. The services that we provide are completely free of charge.
Question: How do you become a member of WWC?
RE: You can become a member of WWC by filling out a form online at www.wwcuk.org or by requesting one in writing.
Question: What are the benefits of being a member?
RE: As a WLAC member, you will have the opportunity to participate on our cultural activities including annual gala. You will also be entitled to receive free Newsletter which from End of march 2009 will be published on quartely basis.
Question: Where does WWC gets its funding from?
RE: WLAC gets its funding from different charitable foundations.
Question: How do I make a donation to WWC?
RE: You can make a donation to WWC by sending your cheque or postal order made payable to WWC to our office address.
Question: How do I become a volunteer?
RE: You can become a volunteer by contacting our offices for an application form and you will be explained about volunteering opportunitie available.
Question:Do you provide services outside Haringey?
RE: Yes WWC does provide services all over Greater London. our services are not confined to Haringey Borough.
Question: Do you provide services outside Greater London?
RE: The provision of our services outside London are subject to securing funding for this purpose. They are some funding which allows us to provide services only in Greater London like the current funding of London Councils.
Question: Do you provide specialist services including representation in Courts/Tribunals?
RE: No, the WWC does not provide specialist services nor tribunal representation we refer clients to specialist providers.
Question: do you provide ESOL classes?
RE: No the WWC does not provide ESOL classes.

Do you provide Outreachwork/Home visits for housebound clients?
RE: Yes, the WWC provides outreachwork/home visit to housebound clients such as; disabled, the sick, the elderly. |
