John Tasker - Patron

John TaskerJohn Tasker is the Bishop of Angola’s Commissary in the UK and Twinning Officer of the Diocese of London. He is a lay minister in the Church of England, and returned from a parish visit to Angola in 2005 with a passion for developing relationships that are mutually-supportive. He now encourages parishes & schools to link through the ALMA partnership between the Anglican Churches in Angola, London & Mozambique.

Professionally, John is a strategist working with the Royal Bank of Scotland’s global transaction business. He lives in Canonbury with his wife Anne, who is a housing officer. They are learning Portuguese, and John speaks a few words of Kikongo too!

He likes living in London, but also loves escaping from the pressures of city life to walk in the countryside and mountains. He enjoys Indian & Angolan food, exploring cities, and worshipping in cathedrals.  He  has  been  a  Patron  of  Welwitschia  Legal  Advice  Centre  since  the  beginning  of  2010

 
Dulce Dos Santos - Chair

Dulce  Dos  Santos   was  born  in Luanda  capital  of  Angola.  She  is  currently    studying   Criminology  And  Sociology  at London South  Bank  University.   Dulce  has  also  HND   in  Computer    science. She  got  to  know  Welwitschia  Legal  Advice  Centre  while  doing  her  work placement .

She  was  referred  to  WLAC  by  Hackney    Community  College.   Since  then  she  never  left.  Subsequently  became  volunteer  at  centre  and  later  joined   its  Management   Committee.  She  is  the  first  chairwoman  of  the  WLAC.    Dulce  enjoys  lovely  food  especially  Angolan and  Cape  Verdean  food .   In  her  spare  time  she  listens   to  kizomba  and  other  African  Music.

 
Ribeiro Baptista - Trustee

Profile Of  Ribeiro  Baptista-Trustee

Ribeiro Baptista is an IT System Consultant and he is a BSc Computer Networking Graduated, he is also a Microsoft, Cisco CCNA, CCSP, Apple and CompTIA A+, Security+ and Network+ certified professional.

Ribeiro currently works as a Network & System Administrator for crown packaging and is keen to work with the Angolan Telecoms & ISP’s companies to improve local network infrastructure and encourage more young people to have free access to the internet at school and college.

Professionally he works as Network & System Administrator by providing system support, infrastructure administration, and maintenance, back up solution and system consultancy.

He lives with his wife Joana who is a receptionist for a local college. They are currently engaged in others activities like helping the WLC with its project and helping young people with learning disability.

Currently he lives in London but prefer to spend the weekend country side with his child to explorer diversity and socialize with other people, He enjoys mainly Angolan, Portuguese, Indian and Colombian food.

 
Joao  Nzadi

Joao Andre.Nzadi-  Trustee

Joao Andre M. Nzadi is an organiser of UNITE The UNION. He works for its branch of London Eastern Region. He is in charge of Food Campaign and organised workers at big factories such as; Bernard Matthews, Greenvale and G’s. He has a talent of a natural leader. He is committed to the needs of young people and social justice and community projects. Mr. Joao is currently studying Law at ICS in order to improve his knowledge and skills. Apart from that he is interested in Basketball, , Handball, politics and youth issues. He lives in South East london

 

 
Domingos  Muanga 

 

Rev.  Pastor  Muanga  was  ordained  as  a  Pastor  of  Anglican  church  in  1991.   He  has  been  living   in  London  since  2002  with  his  Wife.  He  has  always  enjoyed  working  with  community taking  part  in  community  and  charitable  activities.  He  is  a  pharmacist   by  profession.  While  in  Angola    he  ocupied   the  post  of  Director  of  health  department  of  Church  of  England  in  Luanda.   he  is  a  former  member  of Council  of  Christian Churches  of  Angola. He  brings  with  him  management  and  leadership  skills  experience  in  the  organisation.   Welcome   to  Welwitschia  the voice  of  Portuguese  Speaking Community  in  the  UK.

We  are  pleased   to  have  him  in  our  Board  of  trustees.
